Pontoons
Updated on 26 January 2006

The contract has been signed with May Gurney for the work to be started on Sandy Cove for the placing of the dredged material from Newlyn Harbour. This work is expected to commence on the 30th of January.

Material will be dredged at the Harbour and be taken by lorries along the back by the boat repair slip and out through Sandy Cove. Working hours will be 7.00am to 7.00pm although it is unlikely that all those hours will be worked.

The order for the pontoons has been placed and they are being manufactured. It is anticipated that the drilling rig for the placing of the piles supporting the pontoons will be commencing mid February. This work will take about 2 months. It is anticipated that the scheme will be completely finished on the 30th of June.
